OHLcast provides design and weather-forecasting tools for overhead transmission lines: this website, the Cableway web application (ohlcast.com/cableway) and the Cable Field mobile app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what data those services handle, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we store the minimum needed to run an engineering account — your e-mail and the project data you create. We show no ads, run no third-party tracking or analytics, and never sell data.
| Data | Why | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account e-mail and username | Sign-in, account recovery, and the alert e-mails you subscribe to. | You, at registration — or from Apple/Google if you use "Sign in with Apple" or Google sign-in (we receive your e-mail and an opaque account identifier; we never see your Apple/Google password). |
| Password | Sign-in for accounts created with a password. | Stored only as a salted hash; we cannot read it back. |
| Project data | The product itself: line routes, tower placements, sections, terrain points, attachments and settings you create are stored on our servers so you can open them from any device. | Created by you in Cableway or Cable Field. |
| Weather watches | If you subscribe a route or region to weather alerts, we store its coordinates and your alert thresholds, and check forecasts against them on our servers. | Configured by you. These are coordinates of your infrastructure, not of your person or device. |
| Device push token | Delivering weather-alert notifications to the Cable Field app. | Issued by Apple/Google push services when you enable notifications; removed when you sign out, disable alerts, or delete the account. |
| Server logs | Security and operations (debugging, abuse prevention). | Standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL), kept for a short period and then discarded. |
We use a small number of processors, strictly to operate the service:
Your account and project data are kept for as long as the account exists. You can delete your account at any time:
Deletion is immediate and permanent: the account, all projects, weather watches, device push tokens and library items you own are erased from the production database. Encrypted backups age out on their own rotation schedule within a limited period after that.
Depending on where you live (e.g. under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. All account data we hold is visible and editable inside the products themselves; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
OHLcast is a professional engineering tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes will be announced in-app or by e-mail.
