OHLcast — overhead power line design & weather-hazard monitoring
OHLcast is a browser-based platform for designing and monitoring overhead power lines. Lay out a route over real terrain, place towers, string conductors, set ice and wind load cases, and solve sag and clearance in 2D and 3D — then watch live weather, radar, lightning and wildfire hazards along the corridor.
What you can do
- 3D overhead-line design: terrain, towers, conductors, earth wires and stringing sections
- Catenary sag solving with ice and wind load cases; ground, road, railway and crossing clearance checks
- Import CSV, Excel, KML, SHP, DWG and DXF; export DWG, DXF, KML and spreadsheet reports
- Import existing obstacles — pylons, roads, railways, buildings — from OpenStreetMap along your route
- Live weather forecast, radar, lightning, active-wildfire and satellite land-change monitoring, with email alerts
